Getting Here:

  • By Car or Minibus: Dean Lane is a quiet country road with passing places. Please take your time driving up and down—it’s part of the peaceful charm of Bowley, and you may see walkers enjoying the area too!

  • By Coach: Dean Lane is generally unsuitable for coaches and large vehicles, although some coach companies are used to operating on our lane. If your provider has any questions, feel free to contact us. We can make recommendations on travel firms too if you need us to – just ask our team.

  • By Train: The nearest train stations are Accrington (5 miles) and Blackburn (6 miles).

  • By Bus: Regular services from Accrington and Blackburn reach the centre of Great Harwood, which is about 1.5 miles from Bowley.

🕒 Arriving & Leaving

We’ll confirm your arrival time during the booking process. When you arrive, the Group Leader can check in at our friendly on-site office/shop to collect keys. A member of our team will be happy to guide you to your accomodation or camping area and give you a quick tour. If you’re just with us for the day, we’ll show you everything you need to know.

As your stay comes to an end, please leave by your agreed departure time, close all windows, lock doors, and return keys as directed. We hope you leave with lots of happy memories – and maybe already planning your next visit!

Payments can be made by BACS, card, cash, or cheque. If you’ve arranged to pay later, we kindly ask that this is completed within one week of your departure.

Need to make a payment?

We ask that all payments are settled before your arrival – but don’t worry, we can still make amendments during your visit if you need to.

You can make a payment online at any time by clicking the button below.

🚗 Parking at Bowley

Parking is available free of charge on our main car park for your convenience.

If you’re staying in The Lodge, you may use the lane at the back of The Lodge to load and unload.

For other accomodation and camping areas, please follow the instructions of our team on the day. Please do not drive on the fields as they can be incredibly wet at times.

Please note: all vehicles are left at your own risk, and we ask everyone to drive slowly on site (5mph max) with hazard lights on for safety.

🛟 Looking After Each Other

Your wellbeing is our priority, and we ask all visitors to help us create a safe and supportive environment.

  • Please make sure any guests who may need assistance in an emergency have a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP). You can send this to us in advance at bookings@bowley.org.uk.

  • All groups are responsible for bringing their own first aid kits and having first aid cover.

  • A public defibrillator (AED) is located on the patio near the Bowley Bull. Call 999 for the access code if needed.

  • If anyone is injured or unwell, or if emergency services are contacted, please let us know right away so we can support you and complete our accident log.

Local Medical Services include Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital (A&E) and the Acorn Centre (Minor Injuries, Accrington).
